CARDS ADD DANIEL FOR 2005-06 SEASON

UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. – Head Coach Jamie Matthews has announced the signing of incoming freshman Alex Daniel (Muncie, Ind./Central) to the 2005-06 recruiting class for Saginaw Valley State University. Daniel is the third high school student-athlete signed on for the upcoming season joining Luke Laser (Hillsdale, Mich./Hillsdale HS) and Adam Mughmaw (Sweetser, Ind./Mississinewa HS). (More)

Parker Named Second Team All-GLIAC North

The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) announced that senior forward Anthony Parker (Muskegon, Mich./Mona Shores) has been named to the Second Team All-GLIAC North Division. Parker has earned this honor for three straight seasons and once again this year led the team in scoring (15.5 ppg). (More)

Parker Scores 28 In Final Game

UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. – The Saginaw Valley State men's basketball team ended the 2004-05 season with a 99-74 loss to Lake Superior State on Saturday night. Senior forward Anthony Parker (Muskegon, Mich./Mona Shores) scored a season-high 28 points for the Cardinals on 6-of-14 from the field. He was also 5-of-10 from the arc and 11-of-12 from the foul line. Parker finished his career ranked third at SVSU with 1,696 points. (Recap)

Parker Scores 23 In an 83-75 Loss at Northwood

MIDLAND, Mich. – The Saginaw Valley State Cardinals dropped out of the postseason race with an 83-75 loss at Northwood on Monday night. Senior forward Anthony Parker (Muskegon, Mich./Mona Shores) scored 18 of his team-high 23 points in the first half and moved into third all-time in school history with 1,668 points. He shot 8-of-15 and 5-of-11 from beyond the arc in 40 minutes. (Recap)

SVSU Knocked Off by Michigan Tech, 85-56

UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. – The Saginaw Valley State Cardinals dropped an 85-56 decision to Michigan Tech on Saturday afternoon from the James E. O'Neill, Jr. Arena. The Cardinals started the game down 13-0 in the first six minutes going 0-of-10 from the floor before freshman Brandon Ball (Grand Rapids, Mich./Union) canned a triple at the 14:00 mark. Sophomore guard Sydney McDaniel (Indianapolis, Ind./Pike) scored a team-high 10 points and grabbed five rebounds. (Recap)

Ball Nets Career-High 20 in 78-72 Win Over Northern Michigan

UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. – SVSU snapped a four-game losing streak and remained in the hunt for a possible postseason berth with a 78-72 win over Northern Michigan. Freshman guard Brandon Ball (Grand Rapids, Mich./Union) scored a career-high 20 points and dished out six assists. He was 6-of-14 from the field and 6-of-7 at the line in 34 minutes. Ball scored 12 points in the second half and was 4-of-8 from the field. (Recap)
