SVSU DROPS
75-65 DECISION AT LSSU
SAULT STE. MARIE, Mich. - Saginaw Valley State suffered
a minor setback on Saturday, 75-65, to the Lakers of Lake Superior
State further tightening the GLIAC North picture. The Cardinals
drop to 8-10 overall and 3-6 in the GLIAC North, while LSSU improves
to 6-12 overall and 2-7 in conference play. The key for the Lakers
was their shooting and rebounding. LSSU shot 49.2 percent for the
game while SVSU hit just 37.7 percent of their shots. In addition,
LSSU held a 49-32 edge on the glass.
Senior Kenny Nether
(Southfield, Mich./Canton) dropped in 17 points on 6-of-11
shooting from the field. He also grabbed eight boards and recorded
three steals in 30 minutes. Senior Anthony Parker
(Muskegon, Mich./Mona Shores) tossed in 11 points on 5-of-13
from the floor in 30 minutes. Freshman Chris Johnston
(Clarkston, Mich.) added eight points and five boards in
15 minutes and was 4-of-5 from inside the arc. Freshman Brandon
Ball (Grand Rapids, Mich./Union) was 3-of-6 from
behind the arc and finished with nine points. SVSU had a season-low
three turnovers in the game.
