Lakers Ground Cardinals, 77-52

ALLENDALE, Mich. – The SVSU men's basketball squad dropped a tough 77-52 decision to GLIAC rival Grand Valley State on Thursday (Feb. 10). The Cardinals fall to 9-13 overall and 4-9 in the GLIAC, while GVSU improves to 16-7 overall and 9-5 in the conference.
     Senior Anthony Parker (Muskegon, Mich./Mona Shores) led SVSU with 18 points, including 6-of-8 three-point shooting. Senior Kenny Nether (Southfield, Mich./Canton) pitched in with 11 points, five rebounds and four steals. Ron McGrew (Inkster, Mich./Dearborn Heights Robichaud) pulled down a team-high seven rebounds.
     Callistus Eziukwu dominated the paint, scoring posting game highs of 25 points, nine rebounds and six blocked shots for the Lakers. He also shot 10-for-10 on field goal attempts. Marcus Wallace added 21 points and seven boards for the victors.
     SVSU plays Ferris State in Big Rapids on Saturday (Feb. 12) at 3:00p.m.
