by Andrews University 101-44
BERRIEN SPRINGS, Mich. – The Saginaw Valley
State University men's basketball team jumped out to a 51-22 halftime
lead and never looked back, picking up a win against Andrews University
by a score of 101-44. The win moves the Cardinals to 3-0 on the
season.
SVSU shot an impressive 60% from the field
in the game, while holding Andrews to 27% shooting on the night.
SVSU also held an edge on the boards, as they recorded 48 rebounds
on the night compared to Andrews' 29.
Three members of the SVSU bench reached
double-digits in scoring, led by Chris Johnston
(Clarkston, Mich) who had a game-high fourteen points on
the night, while Ron McGrew (Inkster, Mich./Dearborn
Heights Robichaud HS) and Scott Miller (Bay
City, Mich./John Glenn HS) both chipped in with ten points.
Seniors Anthony Parker (Muskegon, Mich./Mona
Shores HS) and David Williams (Laingsburg,
Mich./Laingsbug HS) both had good nights, as Parker had thirteen
points and Williams tallied ten points. Johnston also recorded a
game-high ten rebounds on the night.
SVSU (3-0) travels to Mt.Pleasant on Saturday,
November 27 for a 2:00pm tipoff against the Chippewas of Central
Michigan University.
