Cardinals Topple Warriors

UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. - The Saginaw Valley State University men's basketball team won its second game in a row, defeating the Rochester College Warriors 107-70. It was the first time since January 15, 2001, when SVSU defeated Michigan Dearborn 100-84 that the Cards have scored 100 points.
     Saginaw Valley was led by sophomore Anthony Parker's (Muskegon, Mich./Mona Shores HS) game-high 29 points, on 10-17 shooting. He received help from senior Terrence Wright's (Saginaw, Mich./Buena Vista HS) 20 points and nine rebounds. Maurice Brown (Detroit, Mich./Cody HS) came close to getting his third double-double of the season with nine points and ten rebounds. Cameron Nichols (Detroit, Mich./Cass Tech HS) provided instant offense off the bench, scoring nine points in eight minutes of play.
     Rochester College was led by Matthew Pierce who battled his way to 21 points. Rochester was outrebounded 45-30 on the night.
     Saginaw Valley improves to 2-2 with the win, while Rochester drops to 9-2 on the year. The Cardinals return to action Saturday Nov.30 when they battle Wayne State University, tip-off is set for 3:00 pm.
