Cardinals Win Fourth Straight With 85-77 Victory Over Oakland City

OAKLAND CITY, Ind. - The Saginaw Valley State University men's basketball team scored an 85-77 win over Oakland City College on Saturday (December 28). SVSU fell behind 39-32 at the half, but rallied for its fourth consecutive win. The Cardinals had three players record double-doubles.
    Senior Terrence Wright (Saginaw, Mich./Buena Vista HS) scored a game-high 26 points and added ten rebounds while Anthony Parker (Muskegon, Mich./Mona Shores HS) recorded 17 points and ten boards. Maurice Brown (Detroit, Mich./Cody HS) scored 13 points and pulled down 13 rebounds for the Cardinals, while David Williams (Laingsburg, Mich.) chipped in ten points and nine rebounds.    Clint Weddle led the Oaks with 17 points, while Kevin Williams and Jared McIntyre each chipped in 14. The win in Oakland City, Ind., was the Cardinals' first victory on the road this season. SVSU moves to 8-3 (2-1 GLIAC) on the season while Oakland City falls to 2-7.
    The Cardinals return to action on Monday (December 30) when SVSU travels to take on Kentucky Wesleyan University. Tipoff is set for 7:30 p.m.
