Parker, Wright Earn GLIAC Honors

UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. – Sophomore forward Anthony Parker (Muskegon, Mich./Mona Shores HS) and senior guard Terrence Wright (Saginaw, Mich./Buena Vista HS) were each named to the All-GLIAC North Division Second Team on Thursday (March 6).  The all-conference teams were voted on by the GLIAC men's basketball coaches.  
     Parker finished the 2002-03 season ranked fourth in the conference in scoring (18.3ppg), leading the Cardinals for the second consecutive season. He also finished third in the conference in free throw percentage (87.9%) and tenth in three-point field goal percentage (41.7%), leading the team in each category.

     Wright finished his career with another exceptional season for the Cardinals.  He was one of three players in the GLIAC to finish in the top ten in both scoring (eighth, 16.9ppg) and rebounding (eighth, 6.9rpg).  Wright finished his career in the top ten of several career lists; finishing third in three-point field goals made (118), fifth in made free throws (326), sixth in steals (156), seventh in points (1,532), and eighth in total field goals made (544).
     SVSU finished the season 13-14 (7-11 GLIAC), posting a 10-4 record at home.  Parker will return for his junior season to lead the Cardinals in 2003-04.
