Parker Powers Cards Past Concordia

University Center, Mich.- Freshman Anthony Parker (Muskegon/Mona Shores) racked-up a career night, setting new career highs in points (23), rebounds (7) and steals (3) as SVSU won the battle of the Cardinals, 77-59.  Parker led SVSU in all three categories and Cameron Nichols (Detroit/Cass Tech) dished-out a career-high eight assists, helping SVSU build a 2-0 lead and never look back.
Concordia's DeOndre' Head led all players with 30 points and nine rebounds.  SVSU held Concordia to just 8-of-27 shooting in the first half, building an 11-point lead at halftime.
Saginaw Valley knocked down 18 of its 19 free throw attempts in the contest and dominated the glass, outboarding their opponent 44 to 21.  Parker was perfect from the line (5-5) and the three-point arc while burying 10 of 13 from the field.
The win is SVSU's second-straight victory and puts their record at 2-7 (0-3 GLIAC).  Saginaw Valley will travel to Erie, Pa. to compete in the Gannon University tournament to be held on Dec. 29-30.  The Cards will face Pace University in game number one on Saturday and will face either Gannon or Tiffin University on Sunday.
