KING
HELPS LEAD SVSU TO 3rd PLACE FINISH
PERRY PARK, Ky. – Freshman Mike
King (Livonia, Mich./Detroit Catholic Central)
led SVSU with a +1 score of 145 for the two-day NCAA Regional
Qualifier held at Perry Park Golf Course and helped the Cardinals
to a third-place finish with a team score of 596. The Cardinals
were 16 strokes behind champion Grand Valley State and seven strokes
behind second-place Lewis University.
The Cards were tied for third after an
opening day score of 298. King was even-par 72 on the first day
and followed it up with a +1 score of 73 on day two. Sophomore
Adam Miller (Gaylord, Mich.) had two
solid rounds of +2 (74) and finished with a tie for 13th at 148.
Freshman Sean Rutherford (Haslett, Mich.)
placed 21st with a two-day total of 150 (+6) including a second
round score of 74. Junior Adam Haswell (Freeland,
Mich.) rounded out the foursome with a score of 153 (+9)
which was good for a tie at 45th.
