Cardinals
Compete at Florida Tech Invite
PALM BAY, Fla. – The Saginaw Valley State
University golf team concluded two days of competition at the
Florida Tech Spring Invitational with a fifth place showing. Johnson
& Wales (Fla.) took home team honors with a total score of
913, while the Cardinals posted a 935 for the tournament.
Junior Adam Haswell (Freeland,
Mich.) had the Cardinals' highest individual showing, finishing
in fifth place with a three-round score of 228. Haswell shot a
74 on day one and followed up with an 80 and a 74 on day two.
Sophomore Adam Miller (Gaylord, Mich.)
followed in a tie for sixth place with a 229. Miller carded a
77 on day one and finished with a 73 and a 79 on day two.
Sophomore Scott Urquhart
(Queens Ferry, Scotland) carded a 240 (79-81-80),
Freshman Sean Rutherford (Haslett, Mich.)
shot a 246 (81-78-87) and freshman Mike King (Livonia,
Mich.) fired a 249 (89-79-81). Urquhart finished in a tie
for 21st, Rutherford tied for 31st and King took 33rd overall.
Adam Scrimenti of Johnson &
Wales took top individual honors with a three-round score of 217
(75-72-70).
