SVSU Sits
In Fourth at Gannon Invite
ERIE, Pa. – The Saginaw Valley State
University golf team is in a tie for fourth place after day one
at the Gannon University Invitational on Sunday (April 13). The
Cardinals’ score of 306 left them nine strokes behind first-place
Grand Valley State University.
The Cardinals were led by Dave
Niewiadomski (Alanson, Mich./Littlefield HS),
who finished in third place with a score of 72. Jerry
Hoefling (Saginaw, Mich./Valley Lutheran HS)
finished in a tie for tenth with a round of 76, while Darren
Husse (Fenton, Mich./St. Thomas Moore HS) and
Adam Haswell (Freeland, Mich.) each
shot 79 to tie for 23rd place on the day. Chris Hudson
(Midland, Mich./Dow HS) rounded out the Cardinal contingent
with a round of 84, good for 34th place. Grand Valley State’s
Kevin Kremer carded a 68 to take home the day's top honors.
The Cardinals return to the course
for day two on Monday (Apr. 14).
