Cardinals Finish
Fourth at Regional Tournament
COLDWATER, Mich. – The Saginaw Valley State University
golf team returned home from the Great Lakes Fall Regional with
a fourth-place showing among 21 teams. Findlay earned first-place
honors with an overall team score of 609, while the Cardinals
were close behind with a score of 628. The action unfolded at
Blackberry Patch in Coldwater, Mich.
Freshman Adam Miller
(Gaylord, Mich.) had SVSU’s top individual performance,
finishing in a tie for third place with a two-day score of 149.
Miller carded a 76 on day one, while finishing up with a 73 on
day two. Senior Ryan Waier (Saginaw, Mich./Heritage
HS) had the Cardinals only other top-20 finish, coming home
with a tie for 16th place with a score of 155 (72-83). Senior
Dave Niewiadomski (Alanson, Mich./Littlefield
HS) followed up in 57th place with a score of 163 (82-81),
while sophomore Darren Husse (Fenton, Mich./St.
Thomas Moore HS) took 67th with a score of 165 (87-78). Sophomore
Adam Haswell (Freeland, Mich.) rounded
out the Cardinal contingent with a two-day score of 172 (83-89),
good for 91st place.
Findlay's David Morgan took first
place overall with a two-day score of 146 (69-77).
