Cardinals In Sixth After First Day of Ferris Invitational

BIG RAPIDS, Mich. - The Saginaw Valley State University golf team sits in sixth place after the first day of competition at the Ferris State University Invitational. The Cardinals shot a team score of 312 on Friday (September 13), and trail first-place Grand Valley State (297) by 15 strokes. Ferris State (298) is in second place, followed by Findlay (299), Wisconsin-Parkside (301), and Northwood (305).
   Freshman Darren Husse (Fenton, Mich./St. Thomas Moore HS) led the Cardinals with an opening-round 76. Dave Niewiadomski (Allanson, Mich./Littlefield HS) carded a 78, while Chris Hudson (Midland, Mich./Dow HS) , Jerry Hoefling (Saginaw, Mich./Valley Lutheran HS), and Ryan Waier (Saginaw, Mich./Heritage HS) each recorded a 79.
   The Cardinals will start day two on Saturday (September 14) at 8:30 a.m.
