Saginaw Valley Finishes Third
University Center, Mich. - The Saginaw Valley State golf team
finished day two of the Bay Valley Invitational Sunday (Sept 29)
in third place with a two-day score of 581 after being in first
following day one. Grand Valley State University took home the
Championship with a total of 578, followed by Northwood in a close
second with 580.
The Cardinals were led by Chris
Hudson's (Midland, Mich./Dow HS) two-under 70. Ryan
Waier (Saginaw, Mich./Heritage HS) knocked in a 73
while fellow teammate Darren Husse (Fenton, Mich./St.
Thomas Moore HS) carded a 74. First day leader Dave Niewiadomski
(Allanson, Mich./Littlefield HS) only managed to card a
75 in the wet morning conditions. Jerry Hoefling (Saginaw,
Mich./Valley Lutheran HS) entered the clubhouse with a 75.
Northwood's Justin Holyszko carded
a 66 on the final day of competition after shooting a 70 on the
first day to take home the Individual Trophy with an eight-under
par for the Invitational.
Saginaw Valley State University
will play next at GLIAC Championship on October 4-6 hosted by
Grand Valley State University.
