Cardinal Linkers Pace Day One Field
University Center, Mich. - The Saginaw Valley State University
golf team sits in first place after the first day of competition
at the Bay Valley Invitational. The Cardinals shot a team score
of 289 on Saturday (September 27), and lead Northwood (291) by
2 strokes and Grand Valley State University (292) by three stroke.
Dave Niewiadomski (Allanson,
Mich./Littlefield HS) led the Cardinals, and is tied atop
the leader board with an opening-round 70. Jerry Hoefling (Saginaw,
Mich./Valley Lutheran HS) notched a 72 while freshman Darren
Husse (Fenton, Mich./St. Thomas Moore HS) carded a
73. Chris Hudson (Midland, Mich./Dow HS) shot a
74 and Ryan Waier (Saginaw, Mich./Heritage HS) carded
an 84.
The Cardinals will start day two
on Sunday (September 29) at 8:30 a.m.
