Cardinals Finish 11th at Regionals

BELLINGHAM, MA - The Saginaw Valley State University Men's Golf team finished in 11th place at the NCAA Division II Men's Golf Regional with a final round of 309 and 631 total.

Paced by a three-under-par round of 68 from individual medalist Brandon Brown, the Northern Kentucky University men's golf team overcame a nine-stroke deficit after two rounds to take a one-shot victory.

Senior Scott Volkaman (Muskegon/Mona Shores) led SVSU in the tournament with a final round of 74 good enough for 27th place and a total of 233. Dave Niewiadomski (Alanson/Littlefield) was able to put in a good effort tying for 42nd place turning in a final round 77, 236 total. Mike Brohm (Howell) slipped a bit the final day with a 83, 239 total. Sean Geistler (Goodrich) played his best golf of the tournament shooting a 75, 244 total while Kenny Lee (Farmington/Harrison) came back to shoot 86 after yesterdays par round 71. Lee had a total of 247 strokes in the tournament.

This was SVSU's last golf match of the season. Have a nice summer.
