Cardinals 16th
After First Round

BELLINGHAM, MA – After the first day of play at the NCAA Division
II Men's Golf North Regional the Saginaw Valley State University
Cardinals find themselves in 16th place.
The tournament is being held at the New England Country Club in
Bellingham, MA. Par for the course is 71.
Host Bryant College is leading the event with a team score of 300.
Leading the Cardinals on day one was junior Mike Brohm (Howell)
who was able to shoot 78. Senior Scott Volkmann (Muskegon/Mona Shores)
and freshman Dave Niewiadomski (Alanson/Littlefield) both fired
80 on the day. Senior Sean Geistler (Goodrich) chipped in for an
86 while sophomore Kenny Lee (Farmington/Harrison) had an opening
round score of 90.
The Cardinals will be in action again tomorrow when they will compete
in the second round of the NCAA DII North Regional held in Bellingham,
MA.
