Cardinals Fourth in the Ferris Invitational

BIG RAPIDS - Today the Cardinals of Saginaw Valley State University finished fourth in the Ferris State Invitational.

The tournament was held at Katke Golf Course which measures 6,700 yards and has a par of 72.

The Cardinals today turned in a final round total of 321. Their two day team total was 626.

Ferris State University took first place with a final round of 289 and a total of 626.

The individual medalist in the tournament was Chris Spora of Ferris State University who had a ten-under par performance over the last two days. Spora ended up tuning in a two day total of 134.

Leading Saginaw Valley today was sophomore Sean Geistler (Goodrich) who shot and even-par 78. Freshman Dave Niewiadomski (Alanson/Littlefield) was able to shoot an even 79, while senior Mike Bromm (Howell) put up a 82 on the day. Finally Kenny Lee (Farmington Harrison) was able to finish the final day with a score of 82.

The Cardinals will next be in action again on May 7-9 when they will take part in the NCAA North Regional Tournament held in Smithfield, RI. The tournament will be hosted by Bryant College.
