     John Wesolek returns for his fifth season as defensive line coach after having served as the team physiologist in 1999 and 2000. Wesolek earned a Bachelor’s degree in Biology from SVSU and completed a Master’s Degree in Physical Education and Exercise Science at Michigan State University.
As a collegiate player, Wesolek earned two varsity letters and Rookie Lineman of the Year honors for the nationally ranked Alma Scots. He then transferred to SVSU on a football scholarship in his junior year and was a member of the first team ever fielded at SVSU under Frank “Muddy” Waters. During his years at SVSU, Wesolek played against coach Awrey at Northern Michigan University.
A native of Bay City, Wesolek graduated from John Glenn High School where he was an All-White Pine Conference selection at offensive tackle.
Born June 25, 1954, in Bay City, he is the son of William and Gloria Wesolek, husband of Karen Brown and father of Karen and Katie.
