Cards Go 7-2 in Florida

FORT MYERS, Fla. -Saginaw Valley State revenged an earlier loss to Mansfield University with a 9-3 win on Saturday.  Heath Craven (Hartland) picked-up the win for SVSU. Kurt Neveau (Bay City/Central) launched a solo homerun, his first of the season, and Sean Odamura (Mississauga, Ont./Lorne Park) kept his hot stick alive with a two-hit, three RBI performance.

The SVSU baseball team completed its annual spring trip to Florida with an impressive showing, winning seven out of nine ballgames. The Cardinals really warmed-up the bats in the latter portion of the schedule, pounding-out 32 runs in the final three contests.
"I'm pleased with that," coach Walt Head said of his team's 7-2 record. "We accomplished a few things…we're a little short in a couple of areas, but we can improve on those. The trip ended on a positive note for us."
