Loses Second

HILLSDALE, MI- The Saginaw Valley State University
men's baseball team split with the Chargers of Hillsdale College
on Sunday afternoon.
SVSU took the first game by the score of 13-3.
Sophomore right hander Scott Corby (London Ontario)
got the win for the Cardinals. Corby walked four and struck out
nine. His season record improves to 8-1.
Leading the way for SVSU was junior Chris Ebright
(Ithaca) with two runs on two hits at four trips to the plate.
Ebright also had three RBI's. Senior Zac Zdenahlik (Coloma) chipped
in three runs at three trips to the plate. Junior Justin Garcia
(Bay City/Western) hit a double and three RBI's.
Hillsdale took the second game by the score of 6-3.
Getting the loss for the Cardinals was pitcher Andy
Scott (Bay City/Western). Scott allowed six hits, walked two and
struck out one. Scott's season record falls to 0-3.
Leading the way for the Cardinals in the second
game was freshman Adam Piggot (Sarnia Ontario/Sarnia Collegiate)
with three hits on four trips to the plate and a stolen base.
SVSU improves their record to 28-10 overall and
18-6 in the GLIAC.
The Cardinals next game will be Wednesday, May 2nd
when they will host St. Mary's. Game time is 2:00 pm.
