Frequently Asked Questions
Why should I join the Cardinal Club?
The Athletic Department relies on its faithful friends and fans to provide financial
resources to meet the fiscal demands of maintaining and building a stronger and growing tradition of SVSU athletics. Costs of running 15 programs have skyrocketed, yet SVSU is committed to staying highly competitive and recognized in Division II athletics. Further, we assist deserving young people to be the best they can be, both in the classroom and in the athletic arena.
May I contribute to a specific sport?
You may direct your gift to any sports program; however, unrestricted donations allow
us to assist in the day-to-day needs of our multi-sport programs.
If I donate at the end of the calendar year, how long will my membership extend?
Your membership lasts for 12 months, from the date of your donation.
Where is the greatest need for Cardinal Club dollars?
The greatest need for the Athletic Department, in terms of Cardinal Club
contributions, is unrestricted gifts for scholarships. As we grow Cardinal Club memberships and dollars, contributions to scholarships will have a monumental impact on not only our current students, but also in the area of recruitment of prospective student-athletes.
What is the “Young Alumni” level?
This new member level recognizes recent graduates who are at the beginning of their
careers, but who still want to show support of their alma mater. The “Young Alumni” level is for those who have graduated within the last five years.
