Nick Ekel Places 3rd in 10,000 Meters at Junior Nationals

EUGENE, Ore. - The Saginaw Valley State University men’s track and field Nick Ekelteam was represented at the 2009 USATF Junior Nationals by freshman Nick Ekel (Elsie, Mich. / Ovid Elsie HS) who finished in third place with a time of 31:36.16 in the 10,000 meter run, beating his previous best by 28 seconds. Kim Oberski Named Recipient of GLIAC Post-Graduate Scholarship

Kim OberskiBAY CITY, Mich. — Tiffin University men’s soccer player Adrian Vlad (Alba Lulia, Romania) and Saginaw Valley State University women’s soccer player Kim Oberski (Port Huron, Mich.) were chosen as the recipients for the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Post-Graduate Scholarship.The honor, which awards each recipient $5,000 in aid to the graduate school of their choice, was voted on by the Faculty Athletic Representatives in the GLIAC.  [more»
