SVSU Hosts Saginaw County College Night

‌Saginaw Valley State University will host the annual Saginaw County College Night Monday, Oct. 21 to provide resources and opportunities for local high school students and their families.

All events will take place in SVSU’s Ryder Center, beginning at 6:30 p.m. Students and parents can speak directly with admission representatives from more than 35 colleges and universities throughout Michigan. Representatives of the U.S. Armed Forces also will be present.

‌“This is a prime opportunity for Saginaw County high school students, especially juniors and seniors, to explore a wide variety of college options in one setting,” said Jennifer Pahl, SVSU director of admissions. “Whether you are just starting your college selection process or are close to making your decision, this event can provide valuable information to help you make the best choice for you.”

Representatives of SVSU’s scholarships and financial aid office will give a presentation at 7 p.m. to provide students and families with information on how to finance their college education.  Presenters will share tips on how to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and how to identify scholarships and grants for which students may qualify.
