Retiring after 27 years of service as Vice President for Academic Affairs, Robert Yien presented candidates for SVSU graduate degrees for the final time.

The graduating class of May 2006 was SVSU's largest, totaling 881 graduates and pushed the total number of SVSU alumni to 27,004.

Michigan State Senator Mike Goschka was granted an Honorary Doctor of Laws degree from SVSU and delivered the commencement address.
