The Scott L. and Nancy M. Carmona Family Performance Racing Lab was dedicated during a ceremony Thursday, Dec. 13, 2007. The high performance lab is part of the new Pioneer Hall, which re-opened in August after undergoing a $16 million renovation and expansion.
Scott Carmona is the 2005 Outstanding Alumni award recipient for SVSU's College of Science, Engineering and Technology. He completed a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering in 1981 and is the CEO of Sunrise National Distributors, Inc. in Bay City, a national distributor of aftermarket automotive products. Nancy is the company's human resources director.
The couple has established two endowed scholarships at SVSU, the Scott and Nancy Carmona Endowed Business Scholarship and the Carmona Endowed Engineering Scholarship. Currently, there are two students receiving the business scholarship and one student receiving the engineering scholarship.
Scott Carmona is a board member of the Bay Area Family Y, the Bay County Growth Alliance, the Tri-County Economics Club and SVSU's Board of Fellows. He and Nancy are very active in their church, Holy Trinity in Bay City. The couple resides there with their two sons, Ryan, a finance major at SVSU, and Eric.
