“The wonderful professors are the backbone of SVSU’s Political Science program,” Patricia Scott explained. “Also, the classes available in the program are very diverse; there were many to choose from to accommodate many fields of study.”
“The SVSU faculty are very helpful and compassionate. They truly care about the students and their performance. Working with them is extremely easy and they are cooperative. They typically eased my stress every time I approached one of them.”
“I chose Saginaw Valley because I had heard good things about it, and it was close to my home. The people here really care, and make you feel welcome – not like a number.”
“I worked as a realtor while attending classes. However, I felt I was a part of a community, and I truly enjoyed life here. The atmosphere here is close knit and very pleasant. There is a lot of interaction and camaraderie.”
Patricia will be attending Thomas M. Cooley Law School beginning in September, where she was awarded a 100% scholarship. Patricia was accepted at Michigan State University and Wayne State University as well.
“I feel well-prepared for law school. If I HAD to choose a favorite professor, it would be Professor Mark Nicol,” Patricia said. “He went above and beyond in assisting me with other classes and preparing for law school.”
“However, my favorite class by far was PS 319 - Gender and Politics with Dr. Donahue. This class was a blast and extremely informative. You learn things you would not think about, or discuss, in an average class.”
“At SVSU I learned to pay attention at all times in order to gain as much as possible from any situation. There have been a lot of life skills I have learned as well!”
“Simply put, I have enjoyed my time here and will miss it very much when I leave.”
