Gerontology
SVSU offers an interdisciplinary Minor in Gerontology (a major is not available). The minor is designed to provide:
- A broad understanding of the older population
- Experience working in an agency serving older persons
The Gerontology Minor is interdisciplinary in nature, with students developing a rich background from courses in each of the following disciplines: Health Science, Criminal Justice, Nursing & Allied Health, Psychology, Social Work, Sociology.
A field work experience in a Gerontological setting is required, coordinated by a member of the Gerontology faculty.
