Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) (ADN to BSN Concurrent, Basic BSN & RN to BSN)

Graduates of SVSU's nursing program have the knowledge and skills necessary to be effective communicators, clinicians, and leaders in the 21st Century health care system. The nursing program combines theoretical courses with an extensive clinical experience within Mid-Michigan, leading graduates to have a 95% pass rate on the NCLEX exam. Applications for the nursping program are accepted in the fall and spring. And while our capacity has increased, admission is still competitive.

Since being eligible, all programs in Nursing have been accredited by the official accrediting organization. In 2005, the self-study and site visit occurred for accreditation renewal. Approval was received from the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) for the maximum ten years with no recommendations.

The RN To BSN program was designed by working nurses for working nurses. The RN to BSN is a flexible hybrid program that is a blend of on-campus and online courses that can be completed in a part-time or full-time schedule. RNs have 32 SVSU credits recorded for their basic nursing preparation and experiences, and courses can be completed in as few as four semesters.
