The purpose of Criminal Justice Society is to stimulate interest in Criminal Justice activities at the Saginaw Valley State University (SVSU), and to promote the scholarly and academic aspects of Criminal Justice. The Society offers extra curricular activities such as educational guest speakers, field trips, and student collaboration on research that will be presented at local, state, and national forums (conferences). In addition, the society of a great way for students to begin professional networking that could lead to various career opportunities. For a brochure, please click here.
Dues each semester are $10 and include a CJS shirt as well as various events and tours. Membership is open to students with strong professional interests in the field of criminal justice regardless of major. The bylaws presently provide that active members (with voting privileges) must have at least a 2.5 overall GPA. Interested members need to fill out a member application and turn in to the board at the meetings or to one of the faculty advisors.

All meetings are on Wednesday afternoon from 4:00 to 5:30 p.m. Business meetings and discussions are from 4:00 to 4:30, with the guest speaker starting at 4:30. Except as noted, all meetings are in the Multi-Purpose Room in the Doan Center, between RFOC and the Bookstore. The alternate meeting room is the Alumni Lounge, on the corner where Curtiss turns into Doan.
