Professor Richard Priehs

Dick Priehs received his doctorate in Criminal Justice from Michigan State University and a J.D. from the Thomas M. Cooley Law School. He served for 8 years as Prosecuting Attorney and 4 years as Criminal Defense Attorney.

Research Interests: Wrongful Convictions: Five Major Issues, Comparative Criminal Justice, Evidence & Procedure Case Law

Current Research/Evaluation Projects: Currently working on a wrongful conviction case in Michigan

Current Publications/Presentations:

February 19-21, 2007.  Presented Paper titled "Abuse of Character Evidence in Wrongful Convictions."  Miscarriages of Justice (International) Conference at Central Missouri State University.  

February 11, 2007.  Presenter, along with Board of Directors members from the Innocence Project at Cooley Law School, before 120 inmates at Adrian Prison.  In a ground-breaking event, we  were invited by the Michigan Dept. of Corrections.  
November, 2006. Presenter and panel participant in Ken Wyniemko`s presentation "The Price of Innocence."  He is one of only two DNA exonerees, to date, in Michigan.
