Joe Jaksa has approximately 20 years of experience in the security industry. In addition, he has a Master's Degree in Leadership and Public Administration from Saginaw Valley State University, a Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice from Michigan State University and is currently ABD at Oakland University's Educational Leadership (Specialization in Higher Education and Criminal Justice). He is a Certified Protection Professional (CPP) through the American Society for Industrial Security (ASIS) and is a 17 year member of ASIS, active on the local, regional and international levels. In addition, he has been an instructor of Criminal Justice at Michigan State University.
Research Interests: Comparison of practical and theoretical criminal justice curriculum pertaining to undergraduate education, contrasting practices and methodologies between American and European contract security agencies, effects of Homeland Security as a deterrent of crime and terrorism, Education and Professional Certification
Teaches: Introduction to Criminal Justice, Security Administration, and Comparative Justice Systems
