Holly Child, Department Chair

Prof Child

Holly Child undertook her doctoral work at Wayne State University in Detroit, MI and earned a B.S. and M.S. in Criminal Justice from the University of Central Florida. She has taught in the Criminal Justice Department at Wayne State University. She previously worked as Director of the Crime and Justice Unit at the Center for Urban Studies and as a Research Associate with the Center for Criminal Justice Research at the University of Cincinnati.

Research Interests: Program Evaluation, Mentoring, Drug Courts, Social Justice, Gender and Race in CJS, Correctional Rehabilitation, and Assessment

Current Research/Evaluation Projects: Bay County Family Dependency Drug Court Evaluation, Mentor Connection Evaluation, Saginaw County Juvenile Restorative Justice Program Evaluation, Measuring the Effectiveness of Diversity Training

Teaches: Diversity and Human Relations in Criminal Justice, Issues in Corrections, Introduction to Criminal Justice and Research Methods (both undergraduate and graduate levels).
