Depending on your financial plan, your student may need to learn to budget money, write a check, balance a checkbook, use a credit card responsibly, pay bills, and use an ATM (automated teller machine). Some students find themselves unprepared to deal with the huge responsibility of money management. As a parent you can be a good source of financial information and may be able to offer helpful piece of advice.
