Orientation Programs at SVSU
The Orientation Programs at Saginaw Valley State University are designed to promote academic success and individual growth. During orientation you will have the opportunity to meet other students, take necessary placement tests, attend presentations regarding various programs and services, and receive advising and assistance in course registration.

Freshmen
Student Orientation Advising & Registration (S.O.A.R.) is for students enrolling in college for the first time. This is the first of your three-phase freshmen orientation.

Transfer
The Transfer Orientation Program (T.O.P.) is for all new transfer students enrolling at SVSU with prior college credits.

International Students
Prior to the start of classes, all international students attend a three-day International Student Orientation.
